Violin, Viola

Violin, Viola

Violin and viola teach children to listen closely and play with expression. Lessons begin with how to hold the instrument and bow, then move on to producing a clear tone, finger placement, and playing in tune. Children learn to read music and progress from simple folk tunes to classical pieces. Because string playing trains the ear so well, it builds excellent musicianship and focus. Students also learn to play with others, preparing them for duets and ensembles.
