Sara Zavieh

Concert Pianist | Composer | Founder, Zavieh Music Academy

Sara Zavieh is a distinguished concert pianist, educator, and ethnomusicologist with over two decades of international experience spanning Iran, Russia, and Canada. As the founder of Zavieh Music Academy, she combines a rigorous classical foundation with a visionary approach to music education and cross-cultural research.

Core Expertise

  • Academic Excellence: Holds a Master of Arts in Composition and Piano Performance from the University of Art, Tehran, and a Bachelor of Arts in Piano from the Moscow State Pedagogical University (MPGU).
  • Educational Leadership: Successfully founded and managed the Zavieh Music Institute in Tehran (2016) before expanding her vision to North Vancouver in 2024. Her pedagogical reach spans from university-level lecturing at the Tehran Art University to specialized early childhood music education.
  • Artistic Performance: An award-winning performer, recently receiving the First Degree Diploma in Piano Performance at the Talanttar Alemi Festival (2023). She has performed at prestigious venues including Vahdat Hall and Niyavaran Hall as both a soloist and a collaborative ensemble pianist.
  • Published Scholar: A dedicated researcher in ethnomusicology and music theory, Sara has translated significant works from Russian and English into Persian (notably E. Kashmina and Béla Bartók) and has presented ISI-indexed research on the structural resemblances between Persian and Hungarian music.

Amirhossein Mokhtari Shahrestani

Studied Qanun under Ms. Parichehr Khajeh. Advanced training with Aytac Dogan, Ates Karaduman, Kutsal Sutoglu, Goksel Baktagir. Participated in Qanun workshops in Turkey and received certificates from Goksel Baktagir and Tahir Aydogdu. 

Performed in concerts with various ensembles. Qanun performer with the Isfahan National Orchestra featuring Alireza Ghorbani. Performed in concerts inside and outside Iran with Mohammad Motamedi.

Second Prize – Isfahan Music Competition (2005, 2006). Selected Artist – National Conservatory Students Festival (2007). Second Prize – 8th National Youth Music Festival of Iran.

Arash Moradifard

Born on July 21, 1992, began his musical journey at the age of 9 by playing a Persian instrument called the santoor. At 12, he started playing the piano and keyboard. Since 2009, he has been producing music in the pop, hip-hop, and R&B genres, driven by his passion for composing and arranging. 

His artistic career includes playing instruments for artists such as Ali Yasini, Reza Sadeghi, Hamed Homayoun, and more. Additionally, he has worked as a music producer for Mehdi Yaghmaei, Eljaan, Fedi, Amiaa, and others. 

Additionally, he has been the founder of the website VSTBaz.com since 2012, which is the first Persian website that specializes in producing sample packs and educational content in Persian for Iranian music producers.

Ardavan Mofidi

With over 9 years of experience in music instruction, I am passionate about inspiring and mentoring students to reach their full musical  potential. My teaching background spans various roles, from individual and group lessons to classroom teaching, covering a wide range of  subjects, including classical guitar, piano, music theory, and popular music studies. Through dynamic, personalized lessons, I have  successfully guided over 650 students, incorporating the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) methods to build strong technical and  theoretical foundations.

Bita Baharloo

Bita Baharloo is a multidisciplinary artist and art instructor specializing in puppet theatre and creative sculpture for children and teenagers. She studied Graphic Arts and later specialized in Puppet Theatre at university.She has worked professionally in puppet theatre productions, as well as in television and home-series projects, designing and creating puppets, sets, and accessories using papier-mâché.

In her teaching, Bita focuses on creativity, storytelling, and hands-on art-making, encouraging children and teens to explore imagination and transform recycled materials into expressive artworks in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Fariba Moazzami

Experienced and retired educator with over 30 years of service in primary and secondary education,  including roles as teacher, educational supervisor, and vice principal. Recognized multiple times as  an exemplary teacher. Currently an active vocalist and vocal coach with public performances in  prestigious venues in Tehran and three published music albums. 

Studied voice and music with renowned vocal coaches. Performed concerts in venues such as Vahdat Hall and other major stages in Tehran and Released three professional music albums as a solo artist. Currently active as a professional singer and vocal coach

Narin Naghdi

I have been playing Handpan and composing music with it, using it as a way to express myself, be creative, and connect emotionally with others. I have created my own patterns and pieces that show what the Handpan can do, blending tradition and innovation to evoke deep emotions.

Sahand Sarbishei

Sahand is a musician and teacher, playing Tar, Setar, Tanbour, and Oud. He began his musical journey at the age of ten, studying Setar under the guidance of Mr. Foad Tohidi. He later received the Best Setar Player award twice at the Iranian Provincial Music Festival. A formative milestone in his artistic development was the opportunity to study the repertoire of Persian Classical Music (Radif) with the renowned maestro Mohammadreza Lotfi.

After moving to Canada to pursue a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia, the sense of duty to introduce Persian Music led him to hold workshops and music classes, followed by playing with other musicians in Vancouver. He has performed in more than 60 concerts, festivals, and fundraising events, and was selected as Best Musician at the UBC Music Talent Night in 2019.

Shawn (Shahrokh) Sedighiani

Shawn Sedighiani is an experienced violin and piano teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience in Iran and Canada. He specializes in teaching children and beginners, using a Suzuki-based and student-centered approach that builds strong musical foundations in a warm, supportive environment.

Shawn is a registered member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has completed Suzuki Teacher Training Units 1 through 8. His teaching also aligns with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum, and he prepares students for exams, performances, and long-term musical growth.

With a background in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Shawn has extensive experience working with young learners. He designs age-appropriate lessons that combine structure, creativity, and encouragement, helping children develop confidence, focus, and a genuine love for music. He places strong emphasis on parent communication and practice guidance, especially for beginner students.

In addition to teaching, Shawn is the author of a well-known beginner violin method book, widely used by teachers and students. His background also includes orchestral and chamber music performance, which informs his musical depth and expressive teaching style.

Shawn teaches violin and beginner piano through private lessons and group classes, supporting students of various ages and levels in a positive and motivating learning environment.

Sina Nazari

Music educator with over 25 years of professional teaching experience, instructing adolescents and adults in both formal and independent educational settings. Highly skilled in designing and implementing instructional programs tailored to students’ levels, abilities, and educational goals. Experienced in teaching aural skills, theoretical foundations, and practical musicianship, with a strong record of collaboration with reputable music institutions.
